i think he was angry that people only accepted him when he had a nice coat so thats why he was a ghost haunting the people. I also think he stole overcoats because he had his nice coat stolen from him and he wanted people to know how he felt.

In my opinion, Akakiy Akaveich had a low self esteem and was not big on courage so when getting a new coat he felt accepted, also bring his courge and self esteem up, but after getting his coat stolen he then felt angry and wanted to seek revenge threw his ghost, in a deeper meaning saying that when people get wronged do they have a conscience and do they feel regret?

Akakiy haunted the people of St. Petersburg to get revenge and show the citizens a taste of their own medicine. He stole overcoats to remind him of when he had a nice overcoat and create an imaginary world where he could always go back to and feel like a pimp once again.

I believe that Akakiy stole the overcoats to show people how he felt when he was alive and he haunted people to get back at society for how cruel they treated him.

Golgol tries to cast as much of a sterotypical russian town as he can in this story, with the setting all planned out I think that he was trying to also sterotype the russian people, and vengeful is a word I associate with the idea of Russians, he haunts and steals overcoats as a form of revenge in repayment for the wrongs that were done to him especially revolving around the most important time of his life, which sadly was the aquiring of a new overcoat.

Gogol's ghost steals coats because its his symbolism of revenge. His rise out of obscurity was his new overcoat when it was stolen he returned to his darker state. he feels as if the world doesnt deserve to feel as he did in his wonderful overcoat so he steal from all who own one.

I think that Akakiy's ghost stole the overcoats to get revenge and to teach people how it felt. I think he was angry and upset that someone would steal the one thing that people accepted him for and he felt as if he had more power to show others how it felt when he was dead.

I think the reason of why the ghost steal the coat from others I think it's because of revenge and try to tell people his felling. He turn the his emotion to the dark side. make it to the revenge.

I think Akakiy's ghost stole the overcoats because of he is after his death. He soul saw someone wearing the same jacket with him, he will catch up with the man because he thought the man stole his jacket.

A poor, meek soul overwhelmed by forces live in a bureaucratized society, who dedicates himself to saving enough money to buy a new overcoat, he was being laughed by his colleague. the overcoat is the symbol for a human needs, the ghost stealing the overcoat express the anger form Akakiy Akakievitch, that he wants people to know. the describes the lake of compassion in society.
