Rescue workers identified 62 of the 84 South Africans killed in the Nigeria building collapse. The building is a guesthouse of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) at Ikotun in Lagos. The collapse is currently being thought of as an accident.

This article reports that 67 South Africans were killed in the collapse of a Nigerian church. Eighty bodies have been recovered and 131 people rescued alive. The church collapsed on September 12.

Nigerian rescue workers claim that at least seventy bodies have been recovered from the collapsed church. Officials believe that the cause of the collapse was the addition of floors to the church that the foundation of the building could not support. There had been at least five South African tour groups visiting the church at the time of the collapse. This is the first time in recent history that a massive number of South Africans have died on foreign soil.

This article gives a description about a collapsed church which containted TB Joshua, a political opposition of the current Zimbabwe president, Robert Mugabe. This article also ends with an interesting part about a small plane circling over the building, which could mean it was an inside job by Robert Mugabe to eliminate pressure for him to win another election. This may or may not be true, just my thoughts. 

Friday morning a church collapsed in Nigeria killing at least 70 people, many of which were definitely from South Africa. President Zuma said that 67 of his compatriots died on Friday night, which is thought to be one of the worst tragedies in South African history, even more than many of the massacres during the time of Apartheid.

Former African President F. W. de Klerk argues that the ANC should not implement drastic changes to current property laws in South Africa, as the new laws could cause economic collapse. This land redistribution issue is one that sprang from the end of the era of apartheid. The fact that it is continuing to be an issue highlights the great effect that apartheid had in South Africa.
