    This article talks about how hotels have the opportunity to conserve energy. It is known that many hotel guests are usually unaware or disinterested on how much energy they waste in their hotel room because they've already paid for the room. However, many of us are very conscious of how much energy we waste at home because we do in fact need to pay for that. So why don't we do it in hotel rooms? It comes down to convenience. When you're in a hotel, you don't worry about bills or energy or what harm you are doing to the environment or to the hotel's wallet because you are simply on vacation. However, key card management systems allow guests to save energy without the hassle of walking throughout the room turning off every light, faucet and air conditioning. Instead, saving energy is now as simple as leaving your room. With the key card management, energy management is in affect as soon as the guest pulls out the key card when leaving their room, and as easy as placing it back in the slot when they return. This is an effective, simple way for guests to save energy, while still on vacation.

Purchasing a ticket through GDS is three times more expensive than purchasing the ticket directly. Airlines, which aim to support consumer choice and transparency with its customers, try to tailor travel options to accommodate a passenger's individual needs. However, GDS opposes this movement by urging airlines to use outdated equipment that requires its due fees, which in turn raises the cost of travel for consumers.

    Communication technology is constantly evolving around us in everything we use. Nowadays, we no longer communicate face to face. Instead, we use our cellphones, tablets, computers, etc., to communicate with one another. This in turn affects the tourism industry immensely by providing them with a range of possibilities to successfully and effectively communicate with customers. Due to the increase in new technologies, customers now have easy access to tourism companies and what they have to offer. This benefits the industry by providing exposure and easy access to the things they offer. All in all, it's important that the industry evolve hand in hand with technology in order for the industry to embrace all the opportunities that technology has to offer.

Experts are now advising that more programs be made available for students in the hospitality industry in order to attract the right employees who are willing to work the long hours for low pay and still want to do the job because they love the field work. This rings true with any career because it's important to have employees who are dedicated and love what they do because they're attitude towards the industry and that particular job will ultimately reflect on their work and on the company's image.
