"the person that wants to go a cruise or a tour, spending $4,000 or $5,000 or more, wants to talk to somebody"

"The pandemic has boosted the importance of the travel advisor," Lagman said. "At the start of the pandemic, people who used sites like Expedia to book travel were on the phone for hours trying to change plans or get information or refunds. For many, those experiences solidified the importance of having an advisor."

This article brings a very good point about the importance of travel agents for travelling during these present times of pandemic related closures and travel restrictions that are everchanging. It is very difficult for the average traveler to keep up with and be responsible changes in their destination or any booked places such a lodging, dinning, or excursions.

"Amazon.com Inc (AMZN.O) plans to take a more proactive approach to determine what types of content violate its cloud service policies, such as rules against promoting violence, and enforce its removal, according to two sources, a move likely to renew debate about how much power tech companies should have to restrict free speech."

"Activists and human rights groups are increasingly holding not just websites and apps accountable for harmful content, but also the underlying tech infrastructure that enables those sites to operate, while political conservatives decry what they consider the curtailing of free speech."

"Better preparation against certain types of content could help Amazon avoid legal and public relations risk."

"Most of these companies have understandably not wanted to get into content and not wanting to be the arbiter of thought."

As we discussed cloud computer throughout this module, many of us have mentioned that their places of work within the hospitality industry utilize cloud computing for data storage and in their daily operations. I believe when a company is looking for a cloud to use for such important information brand recognition and trust are very important as you are placing your company in its hands. Some big ones are Google docs, Teams, and Amazon Web Services. Amazon Web Services or AWS is responsible for storage of giants such as Netflix, Coca-Cola and Capital One.

This article explores the notion that the cloud service provider has a lot of power over very significant data. So far they have not used it much to control anything but that may be changing soon. With a couple of instances mentioned in the article of websites taken down and content being restricted, it is worrisome to think about how much further meddling they could get into and how much that can affect a lot of companies as well as individuals. Although the instances have been used to block hate crime, it's hard not to think about the possibility of ending up on the bad side of one of these cloud service providers and having them control what happens to your data.

As cloud computing is becoming more customary, I think that laws and regulations should exist to determine what a cloud computing provider can and cannot do with a user's data.

Some of these technologies such as food delivery services, and conctactless payments I have grown used to as a consumer. However, technology like KDS to improve the back of house operations or air purification technologies are more behind the scenes type of technologies that I have not given much thought so I found this article interesting.
