Sustainable development strategies also concern the environment, and have to do with the company's capability to operate efficiently in the present without compromise its adeptness to operate efficiently in future. Most European governments and hospitality businesses have significantly embraced sustainable growth philosophy. Research made by the International Hotels Environment Initiative showed that 90% of UK citizens, 70% of Australian, and 30% of Americans accept that the hospitality industry in general has a negative impact on the environment. Societies, hospitality organizations, consumers, governmental agencies, construction companies, tour operators and other stakeholders, cooperate to resolve all environmental and social issues that have negative impact in the industry, using sustainable practices.
