Roque - 0 views

  •
ESPN Radio broadcast a podcast called "Roque" on Friday August 27th under the genre of sports. Roque, a variation of lawn croquet, took the place of croquet in the 3rd Olympics and is now extinct but for the small town of Angelica, NY. Played in the town since at least the 1800's, the game is played on a sport-specific pitch in the middle of town where a tournament is held every summer to keep the game alive. Women are not encouraged to play as a leftover tradition from when the sport was first played.
