The World Education Awards have been instituted with the aim of felicitating and acknowledging unique and innovative initiatives in the field of education globally. The e World Education Summit 2011 was held at New Delhi between 13th and 15th July 2011 and the prestigious awards were presented on the 14th July 2011.

SAM is an Andro Humanoid Robot which uses Cascaded Computational Intelligence. SAM has 32 degrees of freedom. He is the first of his kind in India and 14th in the world.

The first talk was by Prof Ian Wallace, Head of School, CranfieldDefence and Security. He stressed on the different defence- oriented programmes at Cranfield. He said a large number of countries, including those in the developing world, come to Cranfield for defence education.

It was a curious scene - outside the Mastan YMCA court, was the poor Nagpada area, that of thin lanes, population outbursts, and some of the best kebabs known to man. Enter the court and it was a slightly different world, where the finest Men & Women basketball stars from all across the country gathered together for a novel Indian All Star event. They wore fancy new jerseys, participated in glittering photo shoots, and signed autographs.

Karate champion Mr. E Gnanasundaram , Lecturer, Hindustan University (Chennai Engineering Colleges) has participated in many World Karate Championships. The Indian spearhead in Common Wealth Games who now trains the Hindustan University Karate Team has proved the supremacy of his team in several national tournaments.
