This may be one site that I do not hold on too. I view Diigo as a just another bookmark manager. Sure, you could set it up to teach lessons, or share information, and not just annotate and bookmark websites, but I find the services it provides redundant. I've already set up my bookmarks on my browser (Chrome) and setting up a blog can replicate the sharing and discussion part of Diigo. The technology was very easy to use, but did take some time to learn. For example, I realized that I was bookmarking back to the main group post and not the topics. But after I got it figured out, it was easier to use. Having a Google account also replicates some of the functions of Diigo, such as syncing your bookmarks or creating an online space to share documents or create blogs. I don't think Diigo is for me, then.

I've designed my group around the idea for an "advanced" computer users class that could be taught at library. This class could be held online or in a computer lab, students would have to complete the assignments to prove they are not just able to get online and click on links, but to show they are beginning to understand the architecture, uses of, and opportunities present on the Internet to express creativity.

The group is open to all, try to not to post the same same content as someone else.

I added four sites to my Diigo. It was really easy to use Diigo and manipulate the the different functions. I've been using Mac OSX Lion with Chrome browser and haven't had any problems using Diigo. I'm not sure how useful the highlight function is, but I really like being able to make sticky notes from my observations of a website. The pages I chose to share are random, with technology being the most common thread, as well as DIY. The IMFDB is a really unusual choice for me as I am not fanatical about guns, but website is so comprehensive, it boggles the mind. Tech, Beer, and Music are big themes for me, so I guess that's why I chose the remaining sites. Again, Diigo, very easy to use!

I was kind of dissapointed that I couldn't find poems I recognized by my favorite poets, Paz and Neruda, and very dissapointed that I could find my favorite poem by Walter Dean Myers "Love That Boy" (http://loribailey.wordpress.com/2004/11/15/love-that-boy-complete-poem/).

I am a fan of Frost however, and this poem in particular puts me in my very pensive mood regarding what it is to be human and our relationships with other humans. I like the opening and closing use of the phrase "there is something here that does not like a wall", which leads me to think that maybe separation from one another isn't such a good thing. Maybe nature doesn't want us to be apart? I mean, do "good fences really make good neighbors?" I think if anything, we respect each other less, we let the fence do all the work of containing our impulsivity and cruelties, instead of willfully sharing a space with someone, we carve it up. Mine. Yours. Apart.
