A few webpages that I find interested linked and completed with notes:

    Hello Class,

    My profile link: http://www.diigo.com/profile/tiecolli

I love to spend hours on Wikipedia looking up one thingor another. I am fascinated withweather, so I spend a lot of time researching the different tornadooutbreaks. One of the Wiki pages I lovelists all of the official F5 and EF5 tornadoes in the country as well as theones that likely were but for one reason or another were not. You will see on my page that I have addedsome notes of the more interesting storms.

Additionally, this always leads me to look at theunbelievable tornado outbreak that occurred in April of this year. I remember this vividly, not because itdirectly affected me, but because I watched it develop and watched itoccur. Nearly one week before hand, Ihad looked at computer models (I am a bit of a weather nerd, so I look at allsorts of models and radar data, stuff like that) and the set up for the nextweek was unbelievably close to the set up in April of 1974, which is known asthe Super Outbreak. I grew up hearingabout the Super Outbreak, thinking that I'd never see anything like it in mylifetime. So, immediately when modelswere spitting information and the set up nearly matched that of the weatherpattern on that day in 1974, it caught my attention. But, long term weather models are oftenunreliable, so I did not think that anything like that would come to fruition. Not only did a major outbreak similar to the74 outbreak occur, it exceeded it on nearly every level. It was an unbelievable day. I actually saw what was left of the damage inTuscaloosa on my way down to New Orleans over the summer, and while I traveleddown I65 in Alabama, I counted no less than 20 spots where I could seetornadoes had crossed the highway.

I have made it no secret that at 31 years old, I lovevideo games. I love them as much as Idid when I first discovered them. Ioften use IGN as a resource to see if I want to purchase a game or not. So, I wanted to make some notes on one oftheir reviews to sort of show how my thought process work. Recently, Nintendo released Legend of Zelda:Skyward Sword. I was assuming that Iwould get the game, but the review confirmed my desire to have it:

Finally, I thought I would just take a look at CNN. Not my favorite site, but I had a bit of funin some criticisms and such. Overall, Ithink these are wonderful tools and any number of instructors might be able toassign reading for their students, assigning the students to add notes as theyread. It shows they are reading andcomprehending the subject.
