Thanks for posting this. While I was aware of Lucas' philanthropic efforts, I had not read his statement before- very personal and inspirational! I hope he will be patient and thoughtful about how to best utilize these additional dollars. There is no need to rush headlong into the next fad..

This article that highlights Khan Academy but also other interesting resources. I found this to have good information to add to our discussions about Khan and it's effectiveness. One of nations best University systems, University of California, is about to start its first group of fully online courses for undergraduates. At the same time, the California State Universities (CSU) starting its computer-based options for its 412,000 students. Currently, there are master's degrees in 63 disciplines entirely online. Some educators are skeptical and raise concern on cheating and of "walmartaization" of CSU education.
