It offers a broad view of what schools are doing with regards to mobile technology policy.

Communication and ­collaboration between curriculum and technology leaders are necessary to impact teaching and learning. Educators are knowledgeable about ­research on effective ­instructional ­strategies while tech leaders are familiar with educational technology trends and emerging applications and mobile devices. Together, these leaders can ­develop a common language that aligns ­evidence-based instructional practices.

I love the entrepreneurial spirit, and this article shows how it can be applied to both improving education and making a profit at the same time.

Although, funny enough, it's not texting for learning, but rather they are communicating information to parents, to keep them engaged and involved. I did think the part about the NH school allowing cell phone use to reduce distractions and allow teachers to focus on teaching instead of enforcement was also interesting. Technology-bans were affecting their effectiveness!

Results of an opinion poll commissioned by Dell comparing technology use in schools in the US, Germany, and China. There's a bit of we're-falling-behind-China hysteria here, I think, but it does highlight some opportunities. Also, Dell's Education Challenge is investing $30,000 in university student (graduate or undergraduate) projects to innovate learning in K-12 schools. Will bendable computer screens save newspapers?

Ha-hah! Thats awesome. I guess it was only a matter of time until we had flexible computer screens. I'm not sure if it will save and/or replace newspapers. I could definitely see consumers buying this screen and having their news constantly updated. Sure you can look to a computer or smartphone for news, but there's something appealing about this newspaper-like screen...
