I followed this article to another really interesting article on th same site http://www.brookings.edu/research/papers/2012/09/04-education-technology-west with a prediction of the use of data mining and web dashboards through the lens of big data. I think we are very close to being able to implement these ideas in the near future. Great article thanks for sharing!

Session on global impact of mobile technology - webcast as well as f2f

Paper from the Brookings Institute addressing the status-quo, challenges, opportunities and concerns of embracing tech in K-12 education in the United States

A set of workshops in DC about transformations in education. Papers about the topics will be released next week (Sept 27), for those of us who can't be in DC. One paper will be about "Harnessing Technology to Improve K-12 Education," so it will be interesting to see what the authors say. Though both authors are business school professors, so I'm not sure how they got chosen to write on this topic? Must be a good business to be in Ed Tech right now...

"What would digitized classrooms look like, and how could technology improve pupil engagement and mastery of concepts? How might educators scale up successful pilot projects? On October 6, the Center for Technology Innovation at Brookings will host a forum on education technology and its potential to transform the modern American classroom." Looks like it could be a pretty good conversation for students like us to participate in!
