In this article the author talks about how when she was growing up she didn't expect people of different races to be in superhero movies nor did she expect women to play a big role in the movies. However now in this day in age she expects more from the comic companies.

This website shares some interesting facts about our favorite superhero movies that not many people know about. It definitely makes you look at the movies in a different light because most of them give you a fact that really changes your perspective.

Minorities in Superhero moviesBy Lindsay Parsh Do you consider yourself raciest? Neither do I. But think about this. Think about all the superhero movies we've been watching lately and tell me, are any of the superhero's black? Are any of them Asian, Mexican, or any other minority here in America?

This article really helped me while writing my paper. It gave me an example about some super hero movies that use racial and even cultural minorities and how they are perceived to be negative.

This article gave me a working definition of what a super hero is and what they are perceived to be and what actions of theirs are acceptable in society.

This was a good article that kind of laid out when minorities are present in superhero films, they are usually never the main character and if they are, they are the antagonist in the movie.

"I hope we do it sooner rather than later." Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has responded to the frequent complaint that the studio's output doesn't give female superheroes their time in the spotlight. Feige states that his hands are tied when making a female led superhero movie because they most stay true to the Marvel franchise and comics which the super hero movies are based off of, and they do not have many female superheroes to make a movie from.

Some of the greatest comic book artists of all time had to work under restrictions. This is an example of technological determinism. Where the media, comic book creators, had control over the characters colors.

This was definitely interesting to read. Many times when we think of superheroes and the colors they wear we do not think about the limitations of the artists creativity when drawing the character for the first time.

This article is about race and gender in superhero movies. I thought this quote from the article was really interesting "As somebody recently pointed out, there are currently more big budget superhero films headlined by blond men named Chris than by women and other ethnicities combined. Even when more diverse characters appear they do so in less prominent roles"

I thought this was a great article for my research topic. A quote i enjoyed was when the author was talking about women in refrigerators and said, "female characters are killed off just to provide a motive for their male counterparts. In the films they seldom even garner this much attention". This is very true in many super hero movies.

This was a good article for my topic. My paper deals with diversity in regards to both gender and race and supported some of the points in my research. I also liked the part about X-Men because that was the movie I coded and am using as examples for my paper.
