    More than normal intake of salt triggers blood pressure issues. Let's see how. Salt contains sodium, the levels of which are monitored by our kidneys. When intake levels of salt are very high, the kidneys are unable to monitor the sodium levels thereby causing it to dissolve into the bloodstream. Now, salt in the blood attracts water which causes increase in the volume of blood that normally passes through the arteries. And this is how blood pressure increases.
