"Welcome to the website for Research Councils UK, the strategic partnership of the UK's seven Research Councils. Each year the Research Councils invest around £2.8 billion in research covering the full spectrum of academic disciplines from the medical and biological sciences to astronomy, physics, chemistry and engineering, social sciences, economics, environmental sciences and the arts and humanities. Many activities are undertaken collectively and this site aims to give comprehensive and up to date information on the progress of cross-Council activities and to provide a portal into individual Councils support for research, training, knowledge transfer and public engagement. Follow the left hand links to find out more. The About the Research Councils menu provides links to information on how the Research Councils operate and the role they play in helping to deliver Government's objectives for science and innovation. Follow the About RCUK menu to find out more about how the Councils work together, for example in providing submissions to consultations and Parliamentary inquiries."
