Shinto does not have a founder nor does it have sacred scriptures like the sutras or the bible. Propaganda and preaching are not common either, because Shinto is deeply rooted in the Japanese people and traditions. "Shinto gods" are called kami.

This is not a website to educate you on facts but instead on opinions (from third person view). This a blog about a women who visits different churches, she is atheist, so she looks at each religion in a very subjective way. There is no guaranty on whether or not her views are reliable, or true, as we don't just how educated this blogger is on each religion, but one really cool part about this is that she is from Vancouver and visits churches in Vancouver.

I agree. This blog is valuable because it highlights a local woman's experiences at a variety of local religious sites. However, we need to be careful to think critically about this source, like Harvir mentioned. We need to ask about her personal bias, her education, her motivation, ect.

Shinto is the native religion in Japan with its roots stretching back to 500 B.C., and is a poly-theistic one venerating almost any natural objects ranging from mountains, rivers, water, rocks, trees, to dead notables. In other words, it is based on animism.
