The organisers said these actors had not only taken on the male-dominated film world in the 1980s, but they had also created a special place for themselves.Well, we do know about all of them making Bollywood special for the viewers and fans.

Raj Kundra is sure one darling husband, after all, we know that almost every woman keeps fast for the long life of their husbands on Karwa Chauth, but hardly we hear about men keeping fasts for their wives as well. And Raj falls in the list of exceptions.In fact, he has been doing so every since the couple tied the knot. However, this Karwa Chauth, he won’t have the company of his wifey Shilpa Shetty for whole day, as she has been juggling between home and her upcoming dance reality show Nach Baliye 6, which she will be co-judging. Sources say that Shilpa would start shooting for the show on October 22, and this is the same day when Karwa Chauth falls. However, like a devoting wife, she will keep the fast for Raj’s safety and long life, even though she will be shooting till late night. Shilpa says, "I have no complaints as it is a prior commitment." Raj will visit her on the sets of the show to break her fast. But that's not all. Interestingly, Raj will also be fasting for Shilpa. The actress confirms, "It is sweet of him. He has been doing it since we got married."You are sure lucky, Shilpa!

Telly industry’s one of the most sought after anchors, Manish Paul is set jump high from small screen to 70mm screen with his upcoming film Mickey Virus. He is busy doing promotions for the film which is slated to release on October 25. He is excited and feels proud to see his hoardings all over Mumbai. He says it's a dream come true.An elated lad said, “It's a dream come true. I have got a solo lead film, my hoardings are all over Mumbai...I used to see film hoardings around Juhu whenever I visited Mumbai as a kid. So, it's a dream come true.”Manish, who is sharing a screen space with debutant Elli Avram, further adds that all actors who come to Mumbai aims to do films. “I also had similar dreams when I came to Mumbai in 2005. But I thought I needed grooming. I didn't have a filmy background, and so I did television, radio jockeying and then I thought it's the right time to do films,” said Manish, who was last seen anchoring in Colors’ Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.Elli Avram, who hails from Greek, is currently seen in reality show Bigg Boss Saath-7. Mickey Virus is directed by Saurabh Varma.

Filmmaker Punit Malhotra, whose directorial Gori Tere Pyaar Mein releases soon, says that he wanted the film to be a two-hero two-heroine, and for the same, he wanted Saif Ali Khan to be the other hero, besides Imran Khan. "At one point of time this film was a two hero-two heroine subject. I only went to the boys. It was Saif and Imran. But for some reasons that didn't work out. I then made it into a solo hero film," says Punit. After making debut with I Hate Luv Storys, Punit took quite long to come up with his next."Imran made me wait a lot. I took three drafts to him, he had issues with first and second draft. When I went for the third time, he approved the first draft only. That led to the delay but I have no complaints," said Punit. Meanwhile, rumours had that Shahid Kapoor was approached for the project.Speaking on the same, Punit said that he did approach another actor, but denied naming him. "Imran initially rejected it, so I went to another actor, but that didn't work out and I made the changes in the script and went back to Imran and then he liked the first draft itself," he said.He also revealed that Saif rejected the offer. "Things with Saif never worked out, but he said take Kareena. We also felt at some point that there is too much happening, so we mellowed it down and made it one hero film," Punit said."We were first waiting for Imran's approval and after that happened, we started thinking about the female lead opposite him. Imran asked me who I wanted, I said Kareena but I felt she was beyond my reach," the director said."Also she had lot of projects in hand at that time. Then it so happened that she walked out of those projects and her dates opened up. I called her, narrated the script and it worked out well," he said. Gori Tere Pyaar Mein releases on November 22!

Colors’ popular show Balika Vadhu will soon witness a new entry on the show in form of talented actor Avinash Wadhawan. The makers have crafted an interesting plot along with the character of Avinash, who will bring hiccups in protagonist Jagya (Shashank Vyas) and Ganga’s (Sargun Mehta) life. Yes, the couple who have got married recently will face a major problem with the entry of Avinash’s character.Currently, Ganga is seen facing difficulties with her work in hospital as a nurse and at home as an idol bahu, who is supposed to take care about the whole family. In the coming episodes, Avinash Wadhawan will enter as a negative character and put her life on troubles.An excited actor Avinash Wadhawan, who was last appeared on TV show Junoon Aisi Nafrat, Toh Kaisa Ishq, says it is always good to be associated with Colors channel. “This is the second time I will work with Colors. Earlier, I played Kalishwer in Rajan Shahi's Maat Pitaah Ke Charnon Mein Swarg. This time I will be seen in their flagship show Balika Vadhu. My character in Balika Vadhu is very intense. It has many shades,” said Avinash, who has also seen in films like Geet, Junoon and Papi Gudia.He added about the shooting experience. “It is very exciting to be part of a cult show like Balika Vadhu and to be associated with Colors. I am looking forward to work with the cast and hoping that audience will love me in the role too.”Welcome to the show, Avinash!

Film industry’s well-known director Krishna Shah has recently died on October 13. Veteran actress Zeenat Aman, who had worked with the filmmaker in film Shalimar, says he was a warm and hospitable man, who loved cinema and was always excited about the new projects.The 61-year-old actress about her coordinal terms with Krishna Shah said, “I met Krishna Shah for the last time about eight to nine months ago at his home in Juhu where he had a get-together for close friends. He was his usual friendly effusive self, looking after all his guests personally, making sure everyone was comfortable. Krishna Shah was a very warm and hospitable man. I had great fun shooting Shalimar with him. My god that was 35 years ago, it seems like yesterday.”She added that Shalimar was made simultaneously in Hindi and English and with international stars of the calibre of Rex Harrison and Gina Lolobrigida. “Off course, Gina later backed out, and we had Sylvia Miles instead. In fact, the film created a whole lot news and speculation even before we began shooting. I remember we were in Bangalore for the shooting in two languages English and Hindi. Dharamji (her co-star Dharmendra) and I were burning the midnight oil. When we were not shooting, he was with his English tutor brushing up his English dialogues, and I was with my Hindi tutor improving my Hindi,” Zeenat recalled.Zeenat added that Krishna was caring person who always made sure all of us were comfortable. “He loved cinema. I remember once when we met, he spent considerable time speaking of my cameo in Bhopal Express. He would always be excited about the next film that he was doing, and then the one after that... He would discuss the movies he wanted me to be in.”The film Shalimar might not have worked at the box office, but the songs by RD Burman play on to this day. They were like Aaina Wohi Rehta Hai, Hum Bewafaa Hargiz Na The and One Two Cha Cha Cha.

Recently the first look of Shah Rukh Khan’s newborn son AbRam was revealed. Even though it was not a close look, but still it mattered to his fans, as it was the first sight of SRK and his wife Gauri’s surrogate child. And AbRam’s daddy dearest has all good things to say about the little kid, as he says when his infant kid is around, everyday is a festival for the family."We are very happy that he is part of our lives. With him around, everyday is a festival for us as he is in the house," Shah Rukh said.At the same time, he revealed how disappointed his was learning about Sachin Tendulkar’s retirement. "When I heard about it I was in Australia...I learnt about it a little late...I felt bad. He has taken the decision as he understands sports better. He did a lot for cricket. He should take rest, relax and enjoy with family," SRK said.He was speaking at the LUX Chennai Express Contest event in Mumbai, where he arrived a little late. However, like a true gentlemen he apologized to his fans for the same, and revealed that he has been down with fever."I am extremely sorry for coming late. My apologies to the media people. Veteran actor Sunny Deol has spent three decades in the film industry feels that the current phase in film industry is being strange as nowadays little importance is been given to content, and marketing, on the flip side has become dominant. "Earlier films had content, but these days films lack content. At times people say they didn't like a film, but that film ends up making money. Bahut hi ajeeb daur chal raha hai," says Sunny, who is popular for his act in films like, Ghayal and Damini. It is weird for him to find out that these days publicity has become this key to success. "This is the reality. If you don't talk about your film, you will not get to know about it."Even though he doesn’t like the idea of promoting his films, but he has to do that with his next release is Singh Saab The Great and is also enjoying the process. It was his film itself which inspired him to change, "Change is basically inspired by the tagline of the film - badla nahi badlaav - you have to change yourself."So, I thought why not bring a change in myself first. In today's time, it is important to reach out to the audience. So we have to do promotions. So, why not enjoy the whole process? I thought, let's have fun.
