Episode XVIII. This weeks artist spotlight is a local talent from Chino Hills and Inglewood, CA native, Madd Doc aka The D.O.C. On Call mixtape was released July 2009. The artist spotlight of the week goes to a talented duo called Narcolepts. Lead singer, Craig Lawrence and guitarist, Aaron Wilson collaborated to create Narcolepts early 2009. Manic Street Preachers are an alternative rock band from Blackwood, Wales, formed in 1986. Often referred to as "the Manics", they are James Dean Bradfield (vocals, guitars), Nicky Wire (bass, occasional vocals) and Sean Moore (drums, backing vocals, occasional trumpet). The band were originally a quartet: lyricist and rhythm guitarist Richey Edwards mysteriously vanished on 1 February 1995. He was declared presumed deceased in November 2008. The Manics released their debut album Generation Terrorists in 1992. Their combination of androgynous glam punk imagery, outspoken invective and songs about "culture, alienation, boredom and despair" soon gained them a loyal following and cult status. The band's later albums retained a politicized and intellectual lyrical style, while adopting a broader alternative rock sound.

The artist spotlight this week is a hip hop artist from Pomona, CA. Tyronne Stokes aka Lyrically Twisted is known for his creative inspirational lyrics, smooth rhythms, and poetic style. Alan Freed was the pioneer of independent music and helped pave the way for future music artists. Freed helped bridge the gap between African-American music and mainstream music, which was predominately all white artists. The 2012 All Indie Music Awards will be a two-and-a-half hour show dedicated to music genres in multiple categories represented around the world to give recognition with a prestige music award. You get more than one speed of music from this album. It travels from great driving music, to the dance floor, to the street, and to the bedroom. It is impossible to get bored with this album, because there's is no one constant. It makes the listener wonder what the next song will bring. If you enjoy R&B and Hip Hop, you get the best of both worlds and it's impossible to just listen to once, in fact, you get hooked.
