First, obviously, the opportunity for educators to learn more about Google+ and it's potential educational applications. But also the format, LiveBinder, is an interesting way to present and share resources.

This course, offered by P2PU (Peer to Peer University) looks at Mozilla's upcoming release of an Open Badges framework and asks questions about how community/peer-rated online badges might stand in for more formal assessment/recognition of learning, particularly in new or non-traditional fields. This is formally a 4-week course which began August 13 2011.

Kibin, a new startup, runs an editing "community" where users can edit each other's work for free (earning points for editing others' work; paying in points for having your own work edited). Users can also buy Kibin credits (rather than bartering) in order to have their work edited.

The exhibits will include interactive props that illustrate abstract concepts. Under the vision of the founder, Glen Whitney, "MoMath will be one small way to bolster mathematics education in the United States. The museum's mission, according the Mr. Whitney, is to shape cultural attitudes and dispel the bad rap that most people give math.
