Click on any yellow plane to pull up a side menu that gives you flight data (altitude, latitude, longitude, vertical speed, etc.). Click on 3D and it will bring up a cockpit view (you must have Google Earth installled to access this feature).

Track ships etc in real time I continue to be amazed by the capacity of spatial technologies to be used for tracking objects on a range of scales in real time. They still have the abilityto take the breath away of those uninitiated in the world of spatial technology (now the wonder of Google Earth is just met with familiarity and little awe) .

It seems everything is peaking these days. You've heard of peak oil - the point at which our global oil extraction starts falling. There's also discussion of peak food, peak wood, peak phosphorous, peak water and peak rare earths. Now here's a new one for you: peak cars.

AirPano is a non-commercial project focused on high resolution 3D aerial panoramas. The AirPano team is a group of Russian photographers and panorama enthusiasts. During the next 2-3 years, we plan to shoot a variety of aerial panoramas and create virtual 3D tours of the most interesting places of our planet.
