ClassBadges is a new service that aims to help teachers and students track their achievements big and small. Using ClassBadges teachers create goals for their students. When students reach their goals teachers assign a badge to them to keep in their student profiles.
"A new way to manage classroom instruction is slowly creeping into the world of education: " Gamification ". Gamifying simply means turning the class content and the way students learn into a game with a rewards system, quests, experience levels, and healthy competition."
This page is more useful for K-12 educators, but there are a LOT of resources that will still be helpful for post-secondary educators as well. This is more of a list of resources and definitions than any kind of critical discussion or a list of practical suggestions, but it's still very useful.
Scroll down (left side) there is a 'How Taboo are YOU?" game that mixes the content from the National Geographic program and FACEBOOK, which you can share results with friends, make public or keep private.
You can use real pumpkin, get pie pumpkins (small ones) and cut into chunks to cook, can use microwave.
It is time for these and a caution they mean baking POWDER not baking soda (baking soda leaves such an after taste the dogs even didn't want them) Trust the "Grasshopper98" on this!

If you running out of game possibilities or want to expore more, here is a list of 47 FREE games available through STEAM, there is no cost to have an account, but whatever you do don't lose your STEAM password, it is very difficult to get it back... trust the "grasshopper98" on this.
They have quite a few games I am looking at for possible use in my classroom. Some can be played within STEAM and others need a free-download to play, but may need strong graphics, ram memory and high-speed internet, others will work just fine within STEAM. No I haven't played them all. [Wink] So many games so little time.
