Future of Museums

What will the emphasis on STEM, and the movement away from encouraging a liberal arts education (even at liberal arts schools) mean for the future of our culture? This report identifies trends leading us in that direction. So, considering these trends, what roles can museum play in promoting a liberal education?

The heart of the game design seeks to create a playful, inclusive common ground where information and idea sharing happens, where everyone's thoughts about the future have a place, and where a meaningful dialog and a common ground can be created to replace the animosity that these topics can evoke.  And this is done using an "old-time" technology: voicemails!

Third spaces in the business context.

This article suggests to me that senior centers need to be re-thought. Seniors want to be in the thick of things even if they are just sitting with friends over luke-warm coffee. Enter the museum's third place...

Smartphones "enable" us to stick around longer in public because they're now an extension of our private spaces. (and free WiFi too!)
