Has anyone had their students complete photo essays using Flickr yet? I have an assignment in my Web 2.0 course where they collect photos about a topic in one of their other online courses and form a visual narrative. They have to create a set, add notes to each photo, and organize a slideshow which tells a story. Some turn out okay, some don't. If you have done this, do you have any hints or suggestions?
I write up a lesson, have them review some material, and then try to use this as a method of demonstrating that they understand the material. I teach them how to use Flickr in the lesson, and teach them about only using their own or creative commons photos to complete the assignment. I would be happy to share the lesson plan with you if you want to send me an email.
