What is Google's AdWords and AdSense trademark policy? - AdWords Help - 0 views

  •
The trademark owner doesn't need to be a Google AdWords advertiser in order to send a complaint. Any such investigation will only affect ads served on or by Google. Google's trademark policy does not apply to search results. Our investigations only apply to sponsored links. For trademark concerns about websites that appear in Google search results, the trademark owner should contact the site owner directly. In the case of an AdSense for Domains trademark complaint, an investigation will affect only the participation of the domain name in question in our AdSense for Domains program. Because Google is not a third-party arbiter, we encourage trademark owners to resolve their disputes directly with the advertisers, particularly because the advertisers may have similar ads running via other advertising programs.

Advertising and Privacy - Google Privacy Center - 0 views

Google offers a range of advertising services through our AdWords and AdSense programs to show you the most useful and relevant ads online. These ads appear on Google's sites and services, on partner websites in the Google Display Network and also on Third Party and certain Google Applications and other clients. Some ads are based primarily on your search queries or on the content of the page you're viewing. When providing ads tailored to your interests, we offer useful tools for you to view and manage the information that is being collected and used to serve ads. To protect your privacy, we follow three principles when we serve ads:

How Google Grows...and Grows...and Grows | Fast Company - 0 views

On Tuesday morning, January 21, the world awoke to nine new words on the home page of Google Inc., purveyor of the most popular search engine on the Web: "New! Take your search further. Take a Google Tour." The pitch, linked to a demo of the site's often overlooked tools and services, stayed up for 14 days and then disappeared. To most reasonable people, the fleeting house ad seemed inconsequential. But imagine that you're unreasonable. For a moment, try to think like a Google engineer -- which pretty much requires being both insanely passionate about delivering the best search results and obsessive about how you do that. If you're a Google engineer, you know that those nine words comprised about 120 bytes of data, enough to slow download time for users with modems by 20 to 50 milliseconds. You can estimate the stress that 120 bytes, times millions of searches per minute, put on Google's 10,000 servers. On the other hand, you can also measure precisely how many visitors took the tour, how many of those downloaded the Google Toolbar, and how many clicked through for the first time to Google News. This is what it's like inside Google. It is a joint founded by geeks and run by geeks. It is a collection of 650 really smart people who are almost frighteningly single-minded. "These are people who think they are creating something that's the best in the world," says Peter Norvig, a Google engineering director. "And that product is changing people's lives." Geeks are different from the rest of us, so it's no surprise that they've created a different sort of company. Google is, in fact, their dream house. It also happens to be among the best-run

Ubiquitous Computing in Education: Invisible Technology, Visible Impact; Teach Beyond Y... - 0 views

  •
Ubiquitous computing in education, as defined in this book, is teachers and students having access to technology (computing devices, the Internet, services) whenever and wherever they need it. In a world of ubiquitous computing, the technology is always accessible and is not the focus of learning. Rather, faculty and students are active partners in the learning process, and they decide not only what technology is needed but also what to learn and how best to create new knowledge.

Top Internet Trends of 2000-2009: Democratization of News Media - 0 views

"It's November 2009 and we're nearing the end of a decade. It's been a tumultuous time of change for many industries, much of it driven by the Internet. The newspaper industry has been particularly affected by the Web. Over the past 10 years, news media has undergone a seachange akin to the invention of the printing press in 1440. Just as Johannes Gutenberg's printing press brought books to the mainstream public in the 15th century, Tim Berners-Lee's World Wide Web brought commercial publishing to the people."

Analog Devices : Analog Dialogue : isoPower - 0 views

For designers of isolated systems, rapid advances in digital isolation technology are yielding new capabilities that greatly simplify their job. Examples include integrated, isolated power and truly bidirectional isolation channels that can reduce system costs and save circuit-board real estate. These advances are fueled by a shift away from LED-based optocouplers toward newer isolator technologies that are compatible with standard foundry CMOS processes. They enable integrated circuitry to be packaged with chip-scale microtransformers, thus fitting more functionality into a single package. This article discusses two kinds of devices that embody these advances. In the first example, isolated power, chip-scale microtransformers are complemented by switches, rectifiers, and regulators to produce an isolated, regulated dc-to-dc converter; when integrated with isolated data channels it provides a complete isolation solution. In the second example, bidirectional isolation, integrating the requisite buffers and drivers creates an isolator that has truly bidirectional isolation channels without the need for external signal conditioning.

Nonprofit organizations' use of the internet: A content analysis of communication trend... - 0 views

  •
"To evaluate the current status of communication and fundraising strategies on the Internet, a stratified random sample of the Chronicle of Philanthropy's Philanthropy 400 was content-analyzed in mid-January 2005. Web sites were coded on variables identified in practitioner and scholarly literature on issues of accountability, fundraising practices, and interactive communication strategies. Chi-square analysis found that the top nonprofit organizations included copies of their annual reports, organizational goals, and mission statements, while second-tier organizations were more likely to use a sales approach by using e-commerce technology and terminology to process online donations."

While others are talking about topics people can go onto their mobile device and see how accurate it is and have stuff to say to back it up
