What a great idea for learning about our democracy unit civics and citizenship unit

What a great idea! Using social media tools to engage students in civics and citizenship. 

This looks interesting. Would be suited to the advanced level 3 and 4 student wanting to go further than the usual 'design your own bedroom" or draw a floor plan of your dream bedroom.

I am going to use this for maths games day! This is a wonderful repository of interactive maths related websites. For all grades 

Very useful wiki for people looking at introducing gaming into their classroom or school. Loads of examples of games that could be integrated into the curriculum. I am about to loose some time checking some of these out.

Haven't had a chance to have a look at this one but looks interesting.

Great step by step instructions on how to create a quiz using google forms. 

For Ipodtouch people again!!

This looks like a great interactive science site. Some great ideas here for science rich tasks. Plenty of activities. 

Yeah Yeah Yeah! Another very valuable blog post from Tom Barret on Google forms for the classroom. What one would give to have a 1to1 laptop program when these tools are around. Great assessment tool. 

This could be great for the web 2.0 eyt group its an online animation app with where you can choose from a stable of characters and backgrounds

More of Tony Vincent. The hand held concept seems to be building and building. 

Great rubric for blogging. Could be useful for upper levels or at least generate a discussion with students as to what is a good blog post. 

Looks like a good site for online maths games for all levels. 

For those that are using ipod touch in the classroom

This looks very interesting. The potential is huge for students to develop apps for the Android platform. How can apple beat this one if they have locked down their apps store? The great thing about App inventor is that it looks like it has been modelled on Scratch 'Blocks' of building scripts. My Grade 5 and 6's (some whiz kids lower) would love to get their hands on this. The potential for them to develop their own apps for perhaps an Android tablet or smart phone is enormous. Rich and authentic possibilities for learning. Have DEECD made a wrong choice in going with the ipad?
