Tether (USDT) transactions on the Tron network have outpaced the number of USDT transfers on the Ethereum blockchain. Despite a lot more ERC20-based USDT in the wild, USDT transaction counts using the TRC20 standard have been much higher all year long, likely due to rising ETH network fees. Fees on the Tron network are near zero, whereas ETH transaction fees can exceed $5 range. However, the aggregated dollar volumes of ERC20 USDT is still 2x higher than those using TRC20. USDT is also issued on Ethereum, Tron, Bitcoin Cash, EOS, Liquid, Solana, and Algorand, among others.

The Tron Foundation has launched its own MakerDAO-like stablecoin system called "Djed." The USDJ stablecoin will be generated through decentralized smart contracts on the TRON network. Anyone can pledge TRX as collateral to generate USDJ, which is pegged to the US dollar through Collateralized Debt Positions using autonomous feedback mechanisms.

The market capitalization of Tether (USDT) stablecoin has crossed the $50 billion mark, with the supply on Tron's blockchain ($26 billion) exceeding that on Ethereum's ($24.4 billion), because ransaction fees are lower, and confirmation times faster on Tron. Most of the Tron-based Tether's supply is on the lightly-regulated Binance, Huobi, and OKEx platforms. USDT remains the largest stablecoin by market capitalization, with about 66% market share, followed by USDC (17%) and BUSD (9%).

Tron introduced its non-fungible token (NFT) standard, TRC-721, to take over the growing NFT market. DApps created on Tron's TRC-721 will be compatible with Ethereum's ERC-721 standard.

"China's Center for Information and Industry Development has released its latest crypto project ranking. Tron and EOS top the list out of the 35 crypto projects evaluated while Bitcoin has been downgraded slightly. The center also evaluated the projects independently based on basic technology, applicability, and creativity."

Tether has started issuing its stablecoin USDT on the Tron (TRX) blockchain, an upgrade from the OMNI protocol-based USDT.

Pornhub now supports Tether to allow instant and zero-fee payments via the TronLink crypto wallet and browser extension. TronLink is a native wallet for Tron (TRX). The USDT token became available on the Tron network in April 2019.

The most active Tron contracts are Tether, Ponzi schemes & high yield online investment programs (HYIPs)(Elipcity, MMMDefi, Rextron, Tronadz, Bankroll Flow), and unregulated betting games.

TRON is a decentralized application platform and a blockchain-based operating system. The initial objective of this platform was to help resolve issues in the global entertainment sector. They later expanded the scope of their vision to tackle the whole DApps market.

The TRON - Tether partnership will add another stable coin to the cryptocurrency sector. This latest example in the proliferation of stable coins will add use cases for digital currency and help increase mainstream adoption.

The TRON DAO Reserve launched the USDD stablecoin just a few days before UST witnessed a massive decline. When Tron's founder, Justin Sun, revealed the launch of the stablecoin, some crypto community members pointed out the similarities between USDD and UST.

"Tron's Decentralized USDD algorithmic stablecoin slipped further from parity with the US dollar today. USDD dropped to slightly below 0.97 before recovering to around $0.98. This marks the second time the stablecoin has slipped out of dollar parity since it was first founded earlier this year. In June, the stablecoin dipped all the way to $0.96 before bouncing back to its intended value."

Ethereum's competitors have come to the fore, and are challenging the platform's dominance by shifting the Dapp market share in favour of emerging platforms like EOS and Tron.

Tron founder Justin Sun, new owner of the Steemit social network based on the Steem token, appears to have successfully executed a takeover of Steem by leveraging not only tokens directly controlled, but also tokens held on several major exchanges, in order to vote out the previous delegates (Steem uses a delegated proof-of-stake system) and install new ones. This means that customers of these exchanges likely had their funds used without their consent in this blockchain power struggle.

In a coordinated strike against some of the best-known companies in crypto, a US law firm issued a barrage of class-action lawsuits aimed at Binance, Block.one, Bitmex, Tron and several others. The lawsuits allege that the firms bilked investors by selling unlawful securities in the form of digital tokens.

Non-fungible tokens (or NFTs) are unique blockchain-based tokens that can represent almost anything, including physical assets. NFTs have been growing significantly in popularity in recent years because of this potential to "tokenize" anything and provide a way to transfer ownership of digital assets to holders. An NFT can be described as a certificate of authenticity. Most NFTs today are based on the Ethereum blockchain, but some other blockchains like TRON and NEO also support NFTs.

Last week, a crypto whale going by the moniker "Metakovan" bought a Beeple artwork via Christie's auction for $69 million-$60 million in ETH and $9 million in fees-outbidding a surprised Justin Sun, founder of the Tron blockchain, at the last minute.
