Summer technology training for teachers with over 75% enrollment in 2009!

Agreed. Paying teachers to participate would probably help. He also has 10 different teachers who have been trained via PLP and are in a position to hold the workshops. Not sure what the trainers get paid per workshop.

That's a great program. I wonder even with a stipend how many of our faculty would actually attend.

What Do You Do On The Last Day Of Class? (Part Two) | Larry Ferlazzo's Websites of the ... - 0 views

  • I teach technology at a grade school. I have 2 projects I’ve done in different years. One is to write a letter to a child who will come in to that grade telling them what that grade will be like. I give them some guidelines, like your 3 favorite things, what you need to know about the teacher, something that will be a challenge. The teacher can use that at meet the teacher day, or the first day of school. The 2nd project I’ve done is “3 Words”. Students pick 3 words to tell upcoming students about the grade. For example: Do Your Homework, Mrs. Smith Rocks, Tell the Truth. You can take a picture of the student with their words, and make it into a book or a slide show.

I like this idea for end of year activity.  the 3 words could be a Wordle.  The letter could be a collaborative document that would help us evaluate the effectiveness of the rotation

I like the terminology here.  the more I see teachers Inboxes - the more I realize that we need to continue offering support.  I don't love this guide - we could/should make a better one.

The Role of Tech vs The Purpose of Education | DMLcentral - 1 views

  • Responding to this challenge, we give a lot of attention to thinking about ways to support and encourage teachers to make greater use of the opportunities presented by digital media, but perhaps we should spend more time considering how and why technologies come to be used, or not used, in the first place.

I wish there was a way for diigo groups to alert when a link already exists in the library to avoid multiples.
  •
Would be nice, but I'd rather have overkill than never having people see it in the first place.
  •
True-I really like the diigo interface and it should be the place where we are teaching all of the teachers to store their bookmarks. I especially love that it affords this kind of conversation about a site
