Today's digital students have access to a wealth of information, yet many struggle to navigate, evaluate, organize, or even comprehend this information appropriately and effectively. To succeed in today's digital world-and in the future-all learners need accessible, leveled content-area information and interactive, personalized learning tools.

One very apparent trend is that some authors only plug their books or related products in their tweets and never provide any other information. These authors were culled from the list in favor of those writers who are trying to carry on a conversation with their followers and present information they might find valuable, whether it directly benefits them or not. After all, why would I want to follow someone who only tries to sell me something?

We're currently building out a team of advisors to inform the development of the YouPD community.  While we benefit from the institutional backing and knowledge of New Visions for Public Schools, our goal is to foster an open, cross-organizational ecosystem that strengthens existing teacher-led professional communities and spurs innovation.

Wetoku is a web service or web 2.0 tool out of Korea that does one thing very well…it provides a simple platform for interviewing someone via the Internet. Collaborating globally is a must for our students and as result interviewing can be a challenge. Wetoku makes doing an interview as easy as filling out some basic information, creating an interview session and then sending the creative interview session's URL to the interviewee.
