See real middle school teachers incorporating the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics standards into their lessons, while learning as much about teaching as their students do about math. The programs demonstrate how teachers guide and assess student understanding, and offer strategies for keeping students motivated and engaged at this critical age.
This is a website made by fellow teachers that has ideas for all kinds of things. (For things to do on the first day of school, for things to do on holidays, for service learning so on) The things I like about it is that it comes from people that already used these ideas in the classroom and tell how it worked. It's a good way for fellow educators to help each other and to be inspired by one another.
This is one of the biggest and most respected newspapers in Germany and always has the most uptodate information. I could use this as a way to practice reading and have an activity on the side for effective communication. Students would learn new vocab, use the language and catch up on what is important in Germany.
The Piaget website. Summaries of his work on knowledge and development. A great site to help understand the process of learning and educational development.
This is actually an interesting way to share info found on the web. You can highlight the pieces of a page you want others to see instead of sharing the whole page. Just something similar to diigo or delicious, but you share just parts of a page instead of a whole.
Great website with free games for every language. I love the idea of having children learn a foreign language through games that are fun nd teach them something.
This website is a resource for teachers to learn about new methods of teaching, what works best, and there is even a blog. This website is also broken down by topic area.
This site offers very helpful resources and conferences that science teachers of all levels can attend to learn more about the subject and new ways of teaching science.
