There are many people who do not have an English dictionary at home. For this reason, they can (should) consult a very good dictionary online. As I tell my students, "dictionaries can be your best friends!" (Mainly when you are writing an essay!) =)
My topic is Violation of Human Rights in Peru (1980-2000). I found this lesson plan from a project in Austrailia. I would change this lesson plan slightly. Instead of people in" another country" I would ask my students instead to talk about Peruvian Andean people.

Very up to date ready-made reading, vocabulary and speaking activities. There is lots of material in each document so you probably won't have time / want to use it all. It's best to be selective! There are sometimes typos so it's important to check beforehand but it's an excellent source.
