Apple and IBM have released details of their partnership which will allow iPhone and Apple Watch users to share data to IBM's Watson Health cloud-based healthcare analytics service. The initiative will potentially bring the benefits of crowd-sourced, Big Data-driven healthcare to millions.

mHealth could save 99 billion EUR in healthcare costs in the European Union (EU) and add 93 billion EUR to the EU GDP in 2017 if its adoption is encouraged.

The top five markets for mobile health app companies in Europe include Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Sweden and the United Kingdom, according to a survey of 5,000 app developers, healthcare professionals, and digital health practitioners. The survey, which was conducted by Research2Guidance in collaboration with HIMSS Europe, found that 55 percent of respondents ranked the UK as the top market.

eHealth adoption Denmark seems to be the most eHealth friendly country followed by Finland and Spain. The top 3 countries in eHealth adoption offer high level of digitalization in healthcare professional's offices and have above average patient's usage of mobile and internet technologies to search for health related information or to make an appointment with doctors via website.
