"How-to video: Creating a digital classroom project, using Glogster Brief synopsis: With Glogster's education platform, located at edu.glogster.com, teachers can expand their use of the web-based poster creation tool, Glogster. The edu Glogster site gives teachers more power than the standard Glogster application. With the educational Glogster Web 2.0 application, teachers can register their students for their own glogster accounts, all of which are contained in the teacher's Glogster account. Students can complete projects on one unit (see how-to video above) and those projects can be shared in the classroom Glogster site."

Game for science - Virtual world devoted to science, technology and free educational ga... - 3 views

  •
Game for Science has to be one of the coolest virtual worlds for kids. This virtual world is dedicated to getting kids excited about science and technology. Students can explore various virtual islands where they will learn about health, aeronautics, genomics, environment, engineering and more. Students can learn more about science careers, what scientists do, play games, learn interesting facts, and explore science photos and videos. Students can play the Game for Science as a tourist without registering, or they can register for an account (this requires an email address with confirmation). This is an outstanding way for kids to get excited about science and technology. As students travel through the virtual world, they can collect neurons (smart stars) by answering questions and playing games. The neurons can be used to purchase items for their avatar.

k12wiki » Social Networking Acceptable Use - 0 views

  • IF we can work together, restrictions placed on all the students can be lightened. The crass actions of the few should not (but sadly do) hinder those of us who know how to behave. By this age, we should all know right from wrong. Myspace shouldn't have to be blocked; it should just be common knowledge that visiting your personal blog during your educational time period is not right.
  • IF you have to wonder if the site you want to use it appropriate, it probably isn't. But you do have teachers and administrators to view and help you make that judgement.
