Amazon introduces the Kindle that lets you share ratings of and highlighted passages from books you've read with your friends through social media networks, and introduces "Kindle Singles" -- "short stories written by well known authors and published electronically by Amazon that come at a cheaper price than full-length books," for our shorter attention spans.

Something I mentioned to everybody in the class I led discussion during and something I'd meant to share a link to weeks ago, but something that's hyper-relevant, given the topic of today's reading and our latest title, "I live in the future & here's how it works." Enjoy!

Yet another example of deigital media and social media revolutionizing the way groups assemble, organize, sustain themselves and activate themselves. It's kind of an old story that keeps being retold, as protestors around the world continue to use social media to propel their causes, but it's relevant and apparently news worth enough to continue to make today's headlines...

From our class discussion today, maybe this is something you'd play with - not because it's particularly useful, but because it's just plain fun to mess around with.

A really useful guide to editing a Wiki page. Have it open when you make your edits to the Wiki for your class presentation, and use it. It's great.

An interesting call to use alternatives to press releases, when publishing's so easy to do, these days...

An article I read last week that made me think of the class. Particularly interesting was the Editor's defense: " 'Americans don't read our paper because they can't read Spanish. They don't read our news, our editorials and the opinion of the community. But if they see a picture, they'll get it,' he said."
