With the advent of newer, more advanced technologies, Astronomers are running into an unusual problem--too much data to go through themselves.Their solutions has been to put it up online and let people (amateur, everyday people) help them out. I think it connects well to Shirky and Remix. Sure puts a whole new spin on "social science".
