An interesting video of a panel on how essays are important in modern education and professional writing. Ties in well with our discussions on cultural consciousness and writing.
This is an article from science daily citing the same study from the previous article, but it takes it a little bit farther and includes a study done on fifth graders.
An article about the Invisible Gorilla experiment. I think this is interesting not only because of the content, but of how widespread the access to this experiment has been--the youtube video has something like 3,095,286 hits.
Really interesting article/video about the University of Kentucky's Children's Hospital child and adolescent behavioral health therapist and associate director of the Division of Adolescent Medicine and their views on social media and kids

In this episode of Grey's Anatomy, the surgeons use twitter to update other surgeons across the country about their work. In return, other surgeons send back feedback. As a result, a life saving surgery is performed and a patient lives. All of this due to this social media!
This video has a bit more to do with Shirky than Baron. It's a documentary piece from Al-Jazeera about the life of some North Korean students in Film school. I found it very interesting when you compare their cinematographic principles to our own. I also found the differences in effort cost between pursuing our interests for the future in the two countries very intriguing.
