Chris Elen asked a journalist Jonathan Bloom the author of American Wasteland book. Chris questioned Bloom why american waste so much food and Bloom pointed three reasons. It because "we waste food because we take it for granded, we wasted because we can and we become superficial about it.

One of the issues we waste food is because the wealthier we get, the more we unconsiously spend money at restaurants and at home and then waste food. The issue of wasted food is not on the radar of Americans.
