COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio House on Tuesday advanced a bill to block state and federal dollars from reaching Planned Parenthood in response to controversial undercover videos released this summer by anti-abortion advocates.
WASHINGTON - House Republicans vented their rage against Planned Parenthood on Friday, voting to block all federal financing for the organization, which they accused of profiting from the sale of aborted fetuses for medical research. It was unclear, however, if the vote would mollify conservative lawmakers who have threatened to force a government shutdown over the abortion issue.
Halting Taxpayer-Funded Welfare for Killers of the Unborn The disastrous 1973 Supreme Court decision, Roe v. Wade, thrust abortion-on-demand upon the nation, resulting in the deaths of millions of unborn babies every year. But that isn't enough for the abortionists. They also want taxpayers to pay for it.
The Wisconsin state Assembly has passed a bill that would take $3.5 million a year in federal grant money away from Planned Parenthood. The Republican-controlled Assembly passed the measure 60-35 Thursday with no Democratic support. It now heads to the Senate. Gov. Scott Walker has said he supports it.
Recent videos suggesting that Planned Parenthood Federation of America affiliates are harvesting and selling the body parts of aborted unborn children have led to renewed calls for Congress to end taxpayer funding of the nation's largest abortion provider.
