its a great video that debates that the Stand Your Ground and whether if it a good idea or not. they show and explain 2 cases where the Stand Your Ground law was implemented with two different outcomes.

Treyvon Martin utilized the Stand My Ground laws to escape persecution when perpetrators entered his home attempting to harm him. The Stand Your Ground Laws were criticized under harsh scrutiny following the acts described above. This set of laws provides security to individual citizens seeking protection for themselves and their loved ones;while providing an outlet to the would-be criminal persecution that ensues following a controversial arms related incident. The victim in question will be protected from criminal persecution under theses laws, and the perpetrator will be tried and treated as such. States lacking in these laws require citizens to be subject to deadly force and simply hope for the best when faced against criminal/ harmful actions on their own property.

The University of Kentucky has recently become a smoke free campus. Campus monitors not only patrol the grounds for bad behavior but now looks for smokers. Monitors will ask the individual to put the cigarette out and provide a flyer on quitting.

Wow. That's awesome, although I'm sure that would be hard to monitor. UK is a big campus. Good for them for trying.

This article was a perfect example of equally divided opinions of this topic. The doctors say it is damaging causing depression and anxiety later on in life. The doctors are also saying that it will teach your child to react to situations in their lives with the same anger and resentment. On the other hand there are parents that live and breath everyday with their children. There has to be a middle ground for discipline. A great deal of interviewed mothers felt it was a necessary discipline tool while there were maybe a handful that felt it could be damaging. There is one question I am looking to have answered. Why is there such a gap between what doctors say and what parents practice?

I'm really glad this symbol is being recognized and taken down in other states, especially those with discriminating acts recently taking place.

I think this is a great thing. Especially considering all of the racial issues we have been having lately through out the country I think this is a huge step in the right direction.

South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley signed a bill into law Thursday that will bring down the Confederate flag outside the Statehouse, a move that seemed unthinkable only a month ago in this Deep South state that was the first to secede from the Union.

This can go either way for people with different backgrounds. The flag can either mean independence and freedom but some take it as being different from the U.S. and it is tied to racism even,

The flag does represent a rebellion against the American government.
