The primary role of a pediatric acute care nurse practitioner is to provide care for acutely, critically and chronically ill children from newborn to 21 years old. In rare cases, care is extended to individuals older than 21.

This article is about a study that sought to describe the process necessary for a successful transition of the student nurse to a professional, as well as what kind of support system enables this progression. It focused more on what was more likely to aid in a student's success. One of the study's implications was the importance of an overall support system with specific concern for appropriate training for those who provide direct clinical education.

This systematic review article has shown that the interdisciplinary care in general medical wards has not made any significant improvement to patient's outcome. This article states that it really needs to look more into their outcome criteria, and I, personally based on this article, think that this article needs to look at more into how interdisciplinary team in this review has performed as a team.

The researchers in this article focused on analyzing what kind of economic impact that giving APRNs full scope of practice in North Carolina would have. They calculated the impact by first projecting the increase in APRN graduates choosing to work in the state after full scope would be awarded. Projections of the increase in demand for providers due to both the ACA and an aging population were also taken into consideration. The findings in this analysis were that giving APRNs full scope of practice in the state would benefit the economy with increased output, employment, and tax revenue all while decreasing provider shortages. The state could save upwards of $495 million in gross product annually.

Hopefully, results such as these will give other states with more restrictive policies incentive to change their practice guidelines.
