This article describes the similarities between Midwifery practice and palliative care. The authors state that historically Midwives have been involved in the "cradle to grave" process. They argue Midwives are well suited to provide palliative care.

Impact out of how PCNP's in palliative care are making a positive and sometimes neutral (no negative) impact in healthcare and healthcare cost. There are better articles (from abstract alone), but no full length available for some reason via Emory Database/CINAHL/google (just not free/inaccessible).

I found this article to be very interesting in that it highlights the importance of transitioning and caring for the geriatric population. As part of my AGACNP program and future career i will be working with many elderly patients.

This article highlights the changes in policy that are needed to enable nurse practitioners their full scope of practice in a way that benefits patients and families at end-of-life. Nurse practitioners need the ability to practice to their full scope of practice, including providing autonomous care, receiving adequate and equal reimbursement for services, and having the authority to prescribe controlled substances II through V. Nurses also need to endorse policies that require specialized education so they receive the knowledge and skills necessary to be leaders in end-of-life care.
