This article explains that we still have a long way to go to have a uniform SOP across the nation. Apparently 18 states and the DC had specific regulations of SOP and certification for NPs whereas 23 did not and 9 states were ambiguous on their standards for NPs. This shows there is still a lot to be done on the policy level.
