This website is a compiled a list of some of the tech tools, including some that are becoming increasingly popular and widely used, that should be part of any teacher's tech tool arsenal this year, whether for their own personal use or as educational aids in the classroom. These resources are categorized under four categories: Social Learning, Learning, Lesson Planning and Tools, and Useful Tools. The "Social Learning" section includes tools that use social media to help students learn and teachers connect. Tools listed under "Learning" includes educational resources to help teachers make lessons fun, interesting and more effective. "Lesson Planning and Tools" provides teachers with tech tools to pull together lessons and design amazing and memorable student projects. Last but not least, "Useful Tools" can help teachers stay connected, organized, and increase the ease of building multimedia lessons and learning tools.

 A great resource for teachers to share lesson plans.

Although research studies in education show that use of technology can help student learning, its use is generally affected by certain barriers. In this paper, we first identify the general barriers typically faced by K-12 schools, both in the United States as well as other countries, when integrating technology into the curriculum for instructional purposes, namely: (a) resources, (b) institution, (c) subject culture, (d) attitudes and beliefs, (e) knowledge and skills, and (f) assessment. We then describe the strategies to overcome such barriers: (a) having a shared vision and technology integration plan, (b) overcoming the scarcity of resources, (c) changing attitudes and beliefs, (d) conducting professional development, and (e) reconsidering assessments. Finally, we identify several current knowledge gaps pertaining to the barriers and strategies of technology integration, and offer pertinent recommendations for future research.

Great site with resources for teacher with lesson plans, helpful websites, and activities and worksheets. Also has pages for kids and teenagers with links to different subjects and sites pertaining to those subjects.

Provides a safe place for students to learn that is divided based on age group. It provides art, music, math, science lessons, and more. It also has an area for teachers to find lesson plans and for parents to learn how to help their children learn.

Great resource for teaching information literacy. The resources are searchable by type (lesson plan or teaching idea) and grade level. Lessons and projects are relevant and interesting.

An awesome resource to share with students! As a teacher I regularly refer to Bloom's Taxonomy when I am planning or developing questions for my students to ponder and respond to. This resource provides a great explanation of the thinking processes that the learner should experience at each of the levels in the taxonomy. The chart offers sample questions in very student-friendly language. This will be helpful as I encourage my students to stretch their questioning and thinking from the knowledge level through the higher levels. 

The topic of future trends in technology for schools involves an incredible amount of inherent change, especially in reference to technology capabilities. This site is an introduction to many of the aspects of technology change that will impact education in the next few years. The goal of the site is to give administrators a glimpse into the rich technology resources available on the Web. Using this site for "just-in-time" references to issues that all administrators will or are currently facing, will assist districts in managing change through research and understanding.  Some current pivotal issues include a clear understanding of possible affects of technology tools will have on learning styles, facilities planning, student achievement, budgeting, and teacher preparation.

This website offers free, interactive resources online featuring Latin & Greek root-based activities at grade levels. It was listed as an instructional resource on the Florida Department of Education website.

This site provides interactive and fun ways for students to practice and learn new vocabulary words via games, puzzles, and crosswords. It is suitable for students from high elementary grades through college!

The State of Florida's Department of Education has an overall plan for the implementation of educational technologies in K12 schools. Below the conceptual graphic, you will find a link to the pdf of the complete 52 page document. It is worth a skim to find out how Florida schools' integration of technology compares to that of schools in other countries. There are also a number of resources available to Florida teachers of which you may be unaware.

According to this FDOE 2012 report, Florida has a plan to incorporate technology in our schools, which involves provision of "personalized learning" environments, staff training and leadership, and availability of networks.

Awesome website! This site extremely vast in educational topics and links for assistance. The teacher tool kit link is priceless. You are able to generate worksheets, create word bingo activities (great for vocabulary retention) and there are lesson plans (i.e. sentence starters). My favorite link is the alternative assessment; here, you can find ideas and rubrics for alternative assessments in your classroom.
