As I move in to a role where I will be working with other colleagues on a more formal basis when it comes to e-learning, I have been reflecting upon different Apps. I was thinking about SAMR and which Apps can have transformative learning linked to them, if used properly.
This website will give you information on apps you can download on to iPads for classroom use. It will give you articles on the best web tools to use in your classroom. I like how it has posters you can use in your classroom and apps you can look at to use in the classroom if they are appropriate or not.
WOW, I found this site with full of iPad resources of Digital Storytelling, wonderful!
This site contains Apps for Digital Storytelling, resources for iPad and much more information! Love it.
eInstruction Workspace (comes with the Mobi, but I use it all the time instead of PowerPoint) Livescribe Desktop (free, but without the pen there isn't much you can do) Animationish (not free, but the most fun art animation program I have ever seen!) Hyperstudio5 (not free, but worth the minimum price - much more creative than PPT!)
A great website for teachers to incorporate tablets in their classroom. A teacher can search applications according to subject area and grade level. Along with rating the application, the site gives the compatibility of the app such as, does it work with IOS, andriod, ipad, or ipod.
Edublog Awards Winners 2011. Lists winner and several runners up for various student, teacher, class, library, ed tech, and administrator blogs.
Also recognizes other categories such as
best mobile app, free web tool, most influential blog post, educational wiki, open PD/webinar series, and use of a social network. I would recommend using this page for resources and ideas for creating your own educational blog.
Matho is a great website and also a phone app for both iphone and android for parent to have available for their children. Kids love to play online games and this type of website allows parents to provide their children with a fun interactive game while enhancing their math skills. Also the games are timed so this can further challenge kids to want to compete in trying to get the highest score in the shortest amount of time.
Video demos and tutorials on how to use Google Apps.
*Google Video (video yourself instead of the usual email, record workshops for teachers who can't make it, record messages for students working on differentiated projects, have students use for class projects), make a class website with Google Sites, and see how to use Google Docs, Google Talk, Google Calendar, and more!

5 mistakes schools make with iPad.1) Focusing on content apps2) Lack of Teacher Preparation in Classroom Management of iPads3) Treating the iPad as a computer and expecting it to serve as a laptop.4) Treating iPads like multi-user devices5) Failure to communicate a compelling answer to "Why iPads?"
Students are able to go back in and recreate their avatars (which are little monsters). You can give points for participation, teamwork, working hard, being on task, etc... and take away points for being disrespectful, not doing homework, etc.
A useful tool that is both a website and an app. Currently free to use - but if you're not already signed up, they are going to start charging for it next school year (I suggest sign up!).
