Virtual Classroom Management is a collection of free online tools gathered by the Technology Resource Teachers of Frederick County, Maryland. Tools include timers, noise monitors, point trackers, random name generators, charts, and more. Online Stopwatch includes analog and digital timers as well as an egg timer, stopwatch (count up or down), talking clock, metronome, chess clock, an interval timer, and split lap timer.

Free online Literature collection - Audiobooks

A collection of stories and poems in audiobook format. (free!!) Great supplement tool for classrooms.

Unfortunately this site is only free for 14 day trial. The minimum price is $9.00/month. The cool about this site is that you can create animation. It is an animation site to create movie, stories. It is simple to use by dragging the cartoon from the tool box. this can be used with students to create digital stories.

Create animated videos and presentations in the classroom. This is great for digital storytelling.

PowToon is an online business presentation software tool that allows you to create free, cool, and awesome animated video explainers as an alternative to using powerpoint

VoiceThread is a free online tool. I'v always wanted to use more audio in my classroom and this seems like a great device.

Awesome website! This site extremely vast in educational topics and links for assistance. The teacher tool kit link is priceless. You are able to generate worksheets, create word bingo activities (great for vocabulary retention) and there are lesson plans (i.e. sentence starters). My favorite link is the alternative assessment; here, you can find ideas and rubrics for alternative assessments in your classroom.

The Florida Center for Instructional Technology is located at USF and is funded by the Florida Department of Education.  It provides links to numerous educational technology resources.

I really like the resources for presentations and technology incorporation in the classroom in the Educational Technology Clearinghouse section of the site.

Take classroom discussions online, where some students might feel freer and more comfortable in some ways to ask questions and respond to each other, and where there's no bell to end the discussion period. (Blog posts can even be made into a homework assignment - as an online journal of sorts - or part of a class participation requirement.)
