Converting it to a DNG will make your file universal and smaller in size. It is worth converting to make your work flow a lot easier. -
To DNG is the answer. It slightly shrinks the raw file with ought loosing too much data so it is smarter to. Also, converts it from proprietary to a universal which i incredibly useful. DNGs also can be opened with any program which makes them an overall great file format.
