The Joop Swart Masterclass The Joop Swart Masterclass has been organized by World Press Photo every year since 1994 and has established itself as one of the most prestigious events of its kind. Its goal is to bring together some of the most experienced individuals in photojournalism with 12 young, promising photographers to share and pass on their knowledge and experience. Top of photography The first decade of the masterclass has shown that its participants are destined to be the best of the best. Our objective is to help them progress on the road toward professional maturity in terms of both theory and practice. The Joop Swart Masterclass is named after World Press Photo's late chairman, who was a passionate supporter of young photographic talent.

It was the era of the girl group, the gamine supermodel and the original IT-girls and the Sixties still provides designers today with an endless source of inspiration.

The early '80s may have been best known for new wave, but fiercely independent punk rock and hardcore bands like these continued to make vitally significant music throughout the decade.

I missed the 1960s myself - being born in 1979 - but developed a love for this decade very early on, and now live in a 1960s house decorated with the appropriate vintage wallpaper and furniture, wear mainly 1960s clothes, am a self confessed knee-high boot addict.
