Shane Koyczan - To This Day poem - 2 views

  •
One of the most beautiful poets ever. This poem is about bullied children. when i listen to his words and the music in the background i picture images of what his poetry is portraying.
  •
I liked this video because it was funny but at the same time extremely serious. He had very interesting stories that kept my attention.
  •
I saw this a few years ago, outstanding. I especially love the part about the homework revenge. I am not certain how this relates to the original question. Yes indeed, I picture many of the scenarios he describes, he is a good storyteller. Most kids I know who are bullies have been bullied. Does that mean we should excuse the way they treat other people? I don't know many people who weren't mercilessly picked on as children for some short-coming. It seems to me everyone should just be kind to each other, even if they don't know them-- or even if they are teachers. :-)

Tom Thum: The orchestra in my mouth | Talk Video | TED.com - 3 views

  •
I chose this ted talk because this is a very unique type of "music". During his performance, the way he creates music makes you think of an image of exactly what type of music he plays
  •
I liked this one and I can't find any other ways to describe it other than it's very unique and interesting. It did sort of put images into my head which still amazes me how music is able to do such strange things like make me picture the emotion in the songs.

Should You Convert Your Photos to DNG? - 1 views

  • formats might be difficult to read in the
  • distant future since the format hasn’t been openly documented and support
  • Since the DNG format (.dng) is open source anyone can write software to read or write the format.
  • ...6 more annotations...
  • from the manufacturer may not always be there.
  • There are also no license restrictions so camera manufacturers could use DNG as their default RAW format instead of their proprietary format.
  • DNG files are around 15-20% smaller in file size than proprietary RAW files without any loss of quality!
  • The DNG format includes a checksum that can detect file corruption
  • might not be necessary.
  • you can’t accidentally make adjustments that change the original file (the way you can with JPEGs).
  •
this is a really good article on the pros of converting to DNG after reading a couple of other websites about the pros and cons of converting to DNG i decided that i was pro and i think that this artical sums up the pros in a pretty simple and easy to understand way.

Dammit i chose the same article!
  •
I think that this article agrees with the process of converting your photos to DNGs. I highlighted main points made by the author, but basically he listed many reasons why we should convert our photos to DNGs. One of the reasons I think would be the main reason I would convert my photos would be because I could would be able to open my photos in a lot of different softwares, not just Adobe softwares. It would be brilliant if camera manufacturers could use DNG instead of the RAW format. #proDNG
  •
The benefits of DNG makes me personally want to change my work flow. DNG is universal, smaller in size, and is adjustable like an ordinary raw file. Unlike Canon, Sony, and Nikons proprietary RAW formats. DNG is universal and I've seen it used for video and photo. Id make the switch.

Pianist Daria van den Bercken fell in love with the baroque keyboard music of George Frideric Handel. Now, she aims to ignite this passion in others. In this talk, she plays us through the emotional roller coaster of his music - while sailing with her piano through the air, driving it down the street, and of course playing on the stage.

David Griffin: How photography connects us | Talk Video | TED.com - 2 views

  •
A solid video explaining the importance of photography within our community.
  •
I like this because it's telling us why photography is more than just taking some nice pictures but how it's a beautifully unique way to show things and connect people. To me it's a way to tell a story. Or express emotions by letting others see exactly what you saw. And a lot of people don't understand the importance of these things.
  •
JorDAN, I can get the connection from the title. How does he do this? What point does he make that tells you why or how photo is important in our community?

  •
The pictures are really cool but they look more like photoshop techniques more than things you can do just with the camera
  •
I really learned some cools things from this!
  •
All of these pictures are amazing; my favorite ones are the black and white pictures. I love taking picture in black and white. To me they tend to show more emotion depending on what your taking. The black and white pictures made me try to think of a connection between the picture and I.
  •
i really like the black and white and he IR pictures and the long exposure articles in that. Really cool ideas in there.
  •

Its weird to think about how someone so vulgar and hardcore can calm dow and create peaceful and amazing art. His work is very creative too.
  •
knowing him i wouldn't think he would be an artist. it's sort of mind blowing to know he makes something peaceful.

The ancient Egyptian writing system, hieroglyphics, was advanced by 3100 B.C.E. The complex system included numbers and an alphabet as well as other symbols. None of the achievements of the remarkable ancient Egyptian civilization would have been possible without the Nile River. There is always a connection between landscape and how a people develop.
