Fact Monster: Online Almanac, Dictionary, Encyclopedia, and Homework Help - FactMonster... - 0 views

Fact Monster has a lot of really cool links, and one of them is the United States. On there you can find out tons of facts on each state. Another neat thing on factmonster.com is that it will ask you if you are a boy or girl, and then what grade you are in. Once it ask you, a random fact will pop up for the internet surfer to read.

The Ustream.TV Blog » Blog Archive » A Live Lesson on George Washington - Pul... - 0 views

It's kind of like Skype but it's more for educational use. I was thinking about using this tool in my classroom and perhaps videoconferencing with my sister and mom who are also elementary music teachers. Maybe I could set it up so that we co-teach a lesson on music together, or maybe sing a duet with the other classroom of music students using the videoconferencing. It'd be fun for the kids to see other kids in music that are all the way in the southwest corner of the United States, since my sister teaches in Arizona. This would be something I'd definitely think about using.

Youth Media Exchange, is a global participant for students of various ages with the Asian society. The United States and Asia use a social network to work collaboratively on creative projects. When I first read this abstract of the website, I thought it would be a great way to interact with different cultures

MICDS United States History Course - Course Overview - 0 views

The site uses an electronic timeline that serves as backbone for the entire coursework throughout the year. Students post all work to the site. This includes individual and collective research work, a writing component, factual assessments, and an emphasis on presentation, collaboration and discussion. The site places an emphasis on active learning that they hope will strengthen skill development (technology, research, historiography, communication). The end of year the students produce a substantial final project.
