Cool math .com - An amusement park of math and more! Math lessons, math games, math pra... - 2 views

gives the students the ability to search multiple levels or ages ranges of math all within the same site. You can also use this website to play games and work with finance (money) type problems, and then it also gives lesson plans and worksheets. There is a link for parents, students, and teachers and each one is available to everyone without any passwords or registration. This is nice so that not only the teacher but also for parents to see at home to try and assist their children if they are having problems at home with homework or a problem. When incorporating with the lesson. I would have the students use it to review specific topic or section of the website as a way to enrich what they know already know.

This website has games for kids to play and practice what they know. There are different categories so while on this one site a child would be able to practice skills in science, math, English, language, health, and computer skills. In each of these categories there are many different games that cover different areas. In the math category for example there are games about money, adding/subtracting, and place value. There are plenty more but those are just a few. In the science category there are games about animals, body and space. The games are in order of course level. This site is generally for younger children. It lets them practice skills while playing a fun game. They are very simple games and a young child would catch on very easily.

Capzles - 0 views

Capzles is a unique timeline type of Web 2.0 tool that lets you create unique storylines by implementing images, video, and audio files directly into the timeline. Currently, Capzles is absolutely free and there are no downloads or plug-ins required to use the tool. The way I could use this website/timeline tool is by asking the students to look back at their earlier years of life and record when they think they started using each level of math up to where they are today. I will write down what level of math they did by talking to their previous teachers to find out what they learned. I will then compare what they actually did to what they thought they did.

AlgebraLAB: Making Math and Science Connections - 0 views

I feel like this would be very good to use as a resource in my classroom. As a middle school math teacher, I will be using a lot of algebra in my class. This would be a very helpful site to use as practice or review. Rather than having students bring their books home to complete their homework, they could just log into the site and complete the problems.

it allows my students to play games and be entertained while using their math skills

This website is fun and educational! It offers games for reading, math, spelling, science, etc. It is designed for young children; ages 3-9. It also advertises and gives suggestions on reading books. The games had very cute names such as; MathCar Racing, Bunny Count, Grammar Gorillas, Fact Monster. This would be a great tool for parents to help their children with areas they are struggling with or to just promote learning at home. I would use it as an award in my classroom for good behavior because kids will think they are playing games while actually learning. I could incorporate it into my 100th day celebration math lesson also by playing one of the games that involves counting up to 100.

Siftables - 0 views

Siftables are small, block-like smart objects that include a display and the ability to sense their own location and orientation and the proximity of other Siftables. They are sort of like high tech versions of the building blocks with letters and numbers we used as children. The can play music, form words, and other exciting functions. IF I had these in my classroom I would definitely use them in math. On the website it shows a video of siftables with numbers on them and you can arrange say 5 + 3 = each on a different siftable. On the last siftable it will produce the answer when you line them up. This way children get an instant answer. You could also use it with spelling which can also be seen on the video on the website.

Kidinfo.com - Your Guide to Educational Powerpoints for Learning - 0 views

This website would work in a third grade classroom perfect. I think that it would work perfect because it is very easily to access. It is also very easy to use because all the lessons are setup for you and ready to use. The materials that are in this website are perfect for this age group. Some of the categories are: Art, Famous Explorers, Library skills, and math mathematics I would work them into my lesson by asking the kids to take turns reading what's on the overhead and then we would stop to talk about what we learned. We would also have quizzes after our PowerPoint presentation on what we talked about.
