FAQs About Movie Copyright Compliance in Schools | Umbrella License | Blanket License - 0 views

  • If I borrow movies from a public library can I use them legally for entertainment in a school? No, not if the school itself doesn't have a license. A public library cannot pass on copyright compliance to anyone, nor can anyone else except Movie Licensing USA or the studios themselves do so. If you borrow movies from a public library for student entertainment, such as After School programs in an unlicensed school, you are not only violating copyright law but you are also involving the public library in non-compliance.

figure this! - 0 views

this is a site, again for math teachers, sponsored by nctm (national council of teachers of mathematics). similar to the cool math site i mentioned earlier, but this site because of its affiliation with nctm, certainly would be up to snuff as far as national standards are concerned and reinforcing mathematics which are included in the national standards. i have not researched or used this site as much as the cool math, but it looks good!

cute duck! here is the write up from Free Technology site: Duck Duck Go is a search engine designed with clarity and simplicity in mind. One of the ways that clarity and simplicity stands out is when you enter a search term that can have multiple meanings, Duck Duck Go alerts you to that and asks you what you really want to search for. For example, if you enter the search term "duck," Duck Duck Go will tell you that "duck" could be a noun or a verb. (see the screen capture below) Duck Duck Go also provides brief information summaries when you search for topics. This is handy if you're not really looking for a lot of information about a topic, but are just in need of a quick synopsis of a topic.
